Biography for Gemma

West End and TV Vocalist and Actor

Gemma Sutton is a West End and TV Singer & Actor based in the North West and London, available for all kinds of Live Music Events from gigs to weddings to outdoor street parties, with a repertoire from Gershwin to Gaga via Carole King and Stephen Sondheim.

Gemma is usually at home on the West End Stage in shows such as Gypsy, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Chicago and Follies, and has also been featured on TV on the BBC, ITV and PBS in America. Gemma is passionate about music and the unique collective experience of live performance - from venues big to small.

Originally from Macclesfield in Cheshire where she began singing at local Nursing Homes (with her Dad at the Piano) and now based in Knutsford, Cheshire and London, she trained in Musical Theatre at ArtsEd in London.

She created The Voice Box Stage during lockdown in 2021 with the help of her brother-in-law Ant, and it was featured on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces on Channel 4 in January 2022.   The Voice Box Music Live Band have been playing together since high school and now as experienced professionals have a created a unique music experience offering a range of musical styles and a bespoke service for a variety of clients.

For Television, her work includes West Side Stories (BBC), Gypsy: Live at the Savoy Theatre (BBC and PBS) Doctors (BBC) and Cilla (ITV).

 

Concerts include The Music of James Bond at The Barbican, London and various performances at The O2, Sheffield City Hall and the RNCM in Manchester and Recordings for Grant Olding, Theo Jamieson and Jennifer Whyte.

The Voice Box Music have gigged all over the UK including Eaves Hall in Preston, Hoar Cross Hall in Burton-on-Trent, Crazy Coqs in London, City Hall in Sheffield, Brown and Green in Crystal Palace, and Sutton Hall in Sutton, Macclesfield to name but a few.
